Well Gertie it has been a long time since I wrote to you principally because I had nothing to write which I thought would be of interest to you and partly because I have been very busy this summer in the mountains and a camp is a poor place to write especially when you are very busy and continually moving from place to place. Will say that my health is fairly good at present
*Gertie was HM Payne's 16-year-old granddaughter, daughter of his son, Noah Milton Payne.
